QuestionWhat additional steps do I need to take to install STK on Windows Server 2012/2012 R2?
Answer

If you are experiencing DLL registration issues while installing STK on Windows Server 2012/2012 R2, first run AgPluginReg.exe as an administrator to attempt to register all of the DLL files. This executable is located in the C:\Program Files\AGI\STK #\bin directory. If this doesn't correct the install errors, it is likely that you do not have Desktop Experience enabled. Windows Desktop Experience provides support for desktop applications (including STK) running on Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2012. In order to properly install STK on either of these Windows servers, you must first enable Desktop Experience. Enable Desktop Experience by following these steps:

Open Control Panel on your machine and navigate to Programs and Features.
Locate "Turn Windows features on or off" and click it.
Enable Desktop Experience and click the "OK" button.
• Reboot your machine prior to attempting STK install.

If you are still experiencing DLL registration errors when installing STK, check that you have all of the prerequirements properly installed. Prerequirements are listed in the STK download folder: STK_v12.2.0>Prerequirements. If you are still experiencing issues, please contact AGI Technical Support (support@agi.com) for additional help.
